This site is maintained by the Llanfechain Community Council as a showcase for the village of Llanfechain and to give newcomers and existing villagers details of what is available and what is happening in the village.

Llanfechain is a small village of approximately 600 people situated on the B4393 between Llansantffraid ym Mechain and Llanfyllin and midway between Oswestry and Welshpool. It is a mixture of traditional houses/cottages together with a couple of small modern estates. There is very much a community spirit which manifests itself each year with the Village Show, held on August Bank Holiday Monday, when most of the village will be present plus visitors from far and wide.

(Details of the Show can be seen at www.llanfechain-show.co.uk  )

What we have attempted to portray is everything about the village, from a map showing local points of interest, details of the Community Council, from its members to reports on its meetings, what’s on in the village and when, what groups and organisations are present and available to join, to a list of local tradesmen.
