The Community Council
 

NOTICE OF CO-OPTION OF COMMUNITY COUNCILLOR
Following the resignation of Mr H N Williams as Community Councillor, no request was received for an election by Powys County Council, in respect of the above.
Following expressions of interest the Council have coopted Mr David Shillito as the new Councillor.

 

The purpose of the Community Council is
            To promote the involvement of local people in the democratic process and
            To bring decision making closer to local people.

By involvement in Decision Making on Local Matters including
            Planning
            Licensing
            Environmental Improvement
            Community Safety
            Small Traffic Management Schemes
            Appointing Governors to Local Primary Schools

And to provide
            Formal consultation mechanism on council wide policies and strategies
            A focal point for discussion and consultation on matters that affect the area

 

Currently the members of the Community Council are as follows :-

Members are elected every 4 years and vacancies arising on the Council between elections are filled either by being co-opted on or as a result of a by-election.
