Private 203104 Allan Price
Royal Welsh Fusiliers

Allan Price was born in Llanybodwel (Shropshire) and died in Ireland on 10th November 1918. He had first joined the Montgomeryshire Yeomanry before being transferred to 3rd Bn., Royal Welsh Fusiliers. His battalion was a reserve unit administratively headquartered in Wrexham but physically based at Pembroke Dock and then Litherland near Liverpool. It remained in UK throughout the war but deployed to Ireland in November 1917 and by the end of the war was based in Limerick. One may presume the deployment to Ireland was a part of the British government’s response to the increasing demands for independence that had precipitated revolt. He is buried in the Limerick (Kings Island) Military Cemetery, County Limerick, Ireland. (Grave Reference: 81).

The cemetery is on the north side of Limerick and is comprised of just under one acre.  There are 39 Commonwealth burials of the 1914-1918 war here, 16 of which are those of the men of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers.
